A new social housing site is currently under construction with Prospur Developers responsible for the development of the project with a gross project value of R26 664 780.

Extension 1 is the adjacent neighbour of the fully tenanted Regent Villas, and will follow the aesthetic theme of its predecessor, however, it will consist of 60 units on a grounds size of 2549sqm which will cater to the demographic identified by the Department of Human Settlements and SHRA to fulfil the criteria of a social housing beneficiary. Extension 1 is situated at 1 Regent Street, Weltevreden Valley, at the forefront of Mitchells Plain, overlooking the well-known Jakes Gerwel Drive which provides linkage to the city.
